Kieren and I have been dating (or going out) for quite some time now. Most likely three months. We both work in the same hospital, me as a nurse and him as a hospital aide. Thing is, I’m turning 38 and he just turned 30. Since I was known from being so nature lover and travelling a lot, I didn’t hesitate his weekend picnic invite. From there, I found out how funny guy he is. He was both so sexy and coy trying to pose like a cowboy at one photo shot.

For the nth trip, however was a little different. He brought me to somewhere near the Giant’s Causeway area, which I couldn’t say no to. “The place is so breath-taking especially when you’re with a very beautiful woman”, he said, my face turning red. Lying down, as we watched the sky slowly getting darker, he asked me why I haven’t told anybody about us and that when someone asks me of our status, “dating“ is my usual answer. With a touch on his cheek, I kissed him gently and told him I’ll change our status to “together” if it will make him feel better soon as we get back. I didn’t think that it was going to be our first day as partners, or lovers. But I don’t regret it though. Saying no and putting a guy like him is going to be my lost, not his.

The next Monday after that weekend, I came across Julius, one of the nurses, and he asked me “Hey, Lenny, are you interested with blind dating stuff? I have a cousin who’s interested into meeting a nurse when he visits here next week”. I would have said yes had I not seen Kieren approaching but instead replied “Sorry, Julius, I guess my status has changed last weekend”. “What? You mean the two of you have passed the dating stage?” and with smile of his face, Kieren approached us and give him a high-five.

Most of our colleagues found out about us and they couldn’t help but congratulate us. It gave me hives thinking we’re not even getting married nor engaged. I guess they are just happy I finally found my guy I can be with when I needed one. After all, it’s been two long years since I had one.
